Pete Rock is an American rapper and producer, born on June 21, 1970 in the Bronx, New York City. He has been a prominent figure in the NYC rap scene since the late 1980s. Pete Rock is best known for his work as part of the duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth.

In addition to his music career, Pete Rock also runs Soul Brother Records and Tru Soul Records. These record labels have allowed him to showcase his passion for music and support other artists within the industry.

With a sound that blends soulful samples with hard-hitting beats, Pete Rock has become a respected name in hip-hop production. His influential style has inspired many artists in the genre, including Large Professor, DJ Premier, and Hi-Tek.
