Merge Records welcome Sneaks with the reissue of her debut album Gymnastics. A pleasingly blunt array of spoken word and chanted lyrics over bass guitar and drum machine, Gymnastics' unique charm lies in its delivery. Musically, shades of bare-bones forebears like Pylon or Young Marble Giants come to mind, but Moolchan's youthful vocals have their own compelling magnetism, even at their most repetitive. Sneaks is currently recording her sophomore album Hi Spirits with Mary Timony and Jonah Takagi, to be released on Merge in early 2017. While her music and lyrics are rooted in punk, Sneaks' live shows often provide the joy and release of a dance party.
