Emerging from Liverpool, England in 1960, The Beatles were a seminal British group that evolved from rock/pop origins into pioneers of musical experimentation. The band solidified its iconic lineup in 1962, featuring John Lennon (vocals, guitar, harmonica, keyboards), Paul McCartney (vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion), George Harrison (guitar, vocals, sitar), and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals, percussion) after signing a recording contract with EMI.Initially recognized for their Merseybeat style, The Beatles soon ventured into uncharted musical territories. They explored psychedelia and pioneered innovative production techniques that incorporated tape loops and other effects. Over their active years they created a legacy of 12 studio albums.Their profound impact on rock and roll was acknowledged in 1988 when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as a group. By 2015 each member had also received individual recognition for their contributions as solo artists within the Hall of Fame.

Capitol Records, founded in 1942 as Liberty Records, is a legendary music label based in Hollywood, California. With a rich history spanning over seven decades, Capitol has established itself as one of the Big Six studios and has sold millions of records worldwide. In 1955, the label was acquired by British company EMI and became part of their Worldwide division. Later on, Capitol merged with Priority Records to further expand its reach.

EMI began releasing Capitol product in the UK, Europe, and Australasia in 1956 after licenses with other record companies expired. Over the years, Capitol Records has been home to numerous iconic artists and bands who have shaped the music industry. From The Beatles to Frank Sinatra to Katy Perry, *Capitol* has consistently delivered groundbreaking music across various genres.

In 2012, Vivendi S.A., owner of Universal Music Group (UMG), purchased Capitol Records. As a leading force in the global music industry today, UMG continues to uphold *Capitol's* legacy while nurturing new talent and delivering exceptional music experiences for fans worldwide.

1964 was the year that the U.S.A. first fell head-over-heels for The Beatles, with an unprecedented run of albums and singles topping the charts and going on to sell millions of copies. But these albums are not simply replicas of the 1963 and 1964 albums released by Parlophone in the UK and rest of world. Seeing a different opportunity, Capitol Records and United Artists compiled these albums for U.S. release between January 1964 and March 1965.

To celebrate the momentous year when Beatlemania exploded across the U.S., seven Beatles albums are collected for a spectacular new 8LP vinyl box set.&nbsp;Meet The Beatles!;&nbsp;The Beatles’ Second Album;&nbsp;A Hard Day’s Night&nbsp;(Original Motion Picture Sound Track);&nbsp;Something New;&nbsp;The Beatles’ Story&nbsp;(2LP);&nbsp;Beatles ’65; and&nbsp;The Early Beatles&nbsp;all feature faithfully replicated artwork and new four-panel inserts with essays written by American Beatles historian and author Bruce Spizer.
