Product description
Miniskirts And Rainbows includes 19 previously unreleased recordings by The Iveys recorded between 1966 and 1969, of which, only one has ever been heard by serious collectors before. The album contains 6 titles that are alternate versions of tracks by The Iveys or Badfinger that have been previously released, and 3 songs that mention miniskirts in the lyrics. The two members of the group that are not well known for their songwriting (drummer Mike Gibbins and bassist Ron Griffiths) each have solo demos included (three and two). Of special note are The Iveys' version of "Blodwyn" predating the Badfinger version by a year, their full group recording of "I Miss You" (predating Badfinger's release by more than 5 years), and "All The Fun Of The Fair", a song written by personal manager Bill Collins, intended for Apple artist, Mary Hopkin. The album was compiled & edited by Badfinger archivist & historian Tom Brennan with mastering & restoration by Kevin McElligott.
