Erato

Erato is a French label that was founded in Paris in 1953. Initially, the label focused on recording French composers and artists, as well as Renaissance and Baroque music. Over the years, Erato has become renowned for its exceptional catalog of classical music recordings.

In 1992, Erato was acquired by Warner Music Group, which further expanded its reach and resources. Then, in 2013, after Warner acquired EMI Classics and Virgin Classics, many releases that were previously issued on those labels were reissued under the Erato name.

These include DP for the 'Les Discophiles De Paris' series, EFM for the 'Fiori musicali' series, ELP for 45 rpm(EP) records, LDEV for 45 rpm and 10" records with specific numbers, LDE for monaural records in different sizes (EPs:1***; 10":2***;12":3***), STE for stereo records (12":50001~50312;10":60***) with corresponding monaural versions (STE number = LDE number + 46900), STU for stereo reissues and new issues after about 1968 (70001~70312), and EJA & EJAS for a special luxurious series called 'Jardin des Arts(Garden of Arts
