Art of Play

A band somewhere between new wave and new romantics, Art of Play formed in the early 80s in Athens, Greece. Influenced by artists like Van Der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill, The Beatles, Bowie, and The Jam, they created a unique sound that blended pop sensibilities with punk aesthetics. Their inaugural single "Art of Parties" was released in 1984 and showcased their catchy melodies and stylish image. Over the years, the band evolved their lineup and experimented with different instruments to create a diverse range of music. After a long hiatus, Art of Play reunited in recent years to perform new material and continue their musical journey.

In addition to their debut single, Art of Play has released several albums including "Elements" in 1990 and "In My Heart" in 2013. Their latest release is the digital single "Nice & Gentle" which came out in 2021. Throughout their career, they have performed at various venues around Athens and even had a special performance at London's Rock Garden in 1991.

Although influenced by new wave and new romantics movements from the past, Art of Play brings a fresh perspective to their music with each release. With Pantelis Vassilakis leading on vocals and guitars alongside Dimitrios Vassilakis on vocals, bass, and keys; Athanassios Economou on guitars; and Konstantinos Kyriakidis on drums - this talented group continues
