Bat For Lashes

Bat For Lashes is the solo project of Natasha Khan, a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Born in 1979 to a Pakistani father and an English mother, Khan had a strict religious upbringing until her parents separated when she was 11 years old. She graduated in film and music, experimenting with sound installations, animations, and performance. Her music has been compared to artists like Björk, Cat Power, Tori Amos, and especially Kate Bush.

Her debut single "The Wizard" was released digitally through label Drowned In Sound and on 7-inch through her own imprint She Bear Records. Signing to Echo records, she released her first album "[Album Name]" in September 2006. The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2007 but lost out to Klaxons.

Khan's live band has included musicians such as Ben Christophers, Charlotte Hatherley, and Sarah Jones (3). With her unique blend of influences and captivating performances, Bat For Lashes continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
