Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach was an award-winning American pianist and composer, born on May 12, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is best known for his pop hits from 1962-1970, which he composed and often performed himself. His songs were mainly written by Hal David, with whom he had a successful collaboration. Bacharach also worked briefly with Hal's brother Mack David and his ex-wife Carole Bayer Sager.

Throughout his career, Bacharach was married to several notable women including actress Paula Stewart (1953-1958), actress Angie Dickinson (1965-1980), songwriter Carole Bayer Sager (1982-1991), and finally Jane Hansen since 1993. In recognition of his talent and contributions to music, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1971.

Burt Bacharach's unique style has influenced many artists in the industry. Some similar artists include Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, The 5th Dimension, Dionne Warwick, Elvis Costello & The Imposters among others.
