Derek Forbes

Scottish bassist Derek Forbes, born on June 22, 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, is a renowned musician with an impressive career. He was the bass player for Simple Minds from 1978 to 1985 and later rejoined them for their studio album Néapolis in 1998. After leaving Simple Minds in 1985, he collaborated with the German band Propaganda as their bassist. In the early 2000s, Forbes formed "XSM" (Ex-Simple Minds) alongside ex-members Mick MacNeil and Brian McGee. Additionally, he joined forces with Mick MacNeil again along with Ian Donaldson and Bruce Watson of Big Country to form "Four Good Men." From 2012 to 2015, Derek played bass for Big Country after taking over from Tony Butler who retired in 2012. Furthermore, he showcases his talent as "Derek Forbes And The Dark."
