J Morrison

American producer, arranger, writer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. J Morrison was born on January 28th 1954 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away on January 21st 2017 in London, UK.

In 1970, he joined the funk band the Ohio Players where he played multiple roles including producer, writer, keyboardist and vocalist. After leaving the band in 1974, J Morrison released three solo albums on Westbound Records under the name Junie. He showcased his talent by playing all the instruments himself.

Joining George Clinton's P-Funk (Parliament-Funkadelic) in 1977 as musical director, J Morrison brought a unique sound to the group during their peak popularity from 1978 to 1980. He also contributed to and produced some P-Funk material using the pseudonym J.S. Theracon. In recognition of his contributions to music, J Morrison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
