Joe Lovano

Joseph Salvatore Lovano, known as Joe Lovano, was born on December 29, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. Growing up in a musical household, his father Tony, a barber by day and a talented tenor player by night, along with his brothers Nick and Joe and their uncle Carl, ensured that Jazz and the saxophone were ingrained in Joe's life from an early age.

Lovano is a highly respected jazz artist who has made significant contributions to the genre. His unique style draws inspiration from various influences such as Chris Potter, Joe Henderson, Jerry Bergonzi, Kenny Garrett, Joshua Redman Quartet and many others.

With an extensive discography spanning over several decades and collaborations with renowned musicians like Charles Lloyd, Christian McBride and Branford Marsalis among others; Lovano's virtuosity on the saxophone continues to captivate audiences worldwide. He is truly a master of his craft.
