Lauryn Hill

American singer-songwriter, rapper, recording artist, musician, producer, and actress born on May 26th, 1975 in East Orange, NJ. She gained recognition as a member of the Fugees. In 1998, she launched her solo career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". The album earned her five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.After her debut success, Hill stepped away from the public eye due to her dissatisfaction with fame and the music industry. After a four-year break, she released "MTV Unplugged No. 2.0", a live recording showcasing deeply personal songs performed mostly solo with an acoustic guitar.Today, Lauryn Hill prefers to stay out of the spotlight and is known for being a mother to five children with Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley.
