Snow Patrol is a Northern Irish/Scottish alternative rock band formed in 1994. The group consists of Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Jonny Quinn (drums), Nathan Connolly (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Wilson (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Johnny McDaid (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals). Initially an indie rock band, their early releases were commercially unsuccessful. However, they rose to fame with their major label debut album "Final Straw" in 2003. Since then, Snow Patrol has sold over ten million albums worldwide and achieved international success.
Their breakthrough album "Final Straw" was certified 5× platinum in the UK and sold over 3 million copies globally. The follow-up album "Eyes Open" (2006) featured the hit single "Chasing Cars," which propelled them to even greater fame. It topped the UK Album Charts and became the best-selling British album of that year with over 6 million copies sold worldwide.
Throughout their career, Snow Patrol has won five Meteor Ireland Music Awards and received three BRIT Awards nominations. Their discography includes six studio albums as well as compilation albums.
