The Bahama Soul Club

The Bahama Soul Club is a German-based group known for their unique blend of soul, jazz, funk, blues, bossa nova, afro and Caribbean influences. Led by Oliver Belz, the band started in 2005 under a different name. Their first release became a huge success worldwide and topped the German Club Charts for over 12 weeks. With guest vocals from renowned artists like Terry Callier and Carolyn Leonhart, their albums have consistently reached high positions on various charts.

After changing their name to Bahama Soul Club in 2008 due to legal reasons, they continued to impress with their album "Rhythm Is What Makes Jazz Jazz". Collaborations with Isabelle Antena and Mrs. Pat Appleton established them as an important presence in the European jazz scene. Their second album "Bossa Nova Just Smells Funky" brought even more success with radio features on all German public stations and numerous chart entries.

In 2013, they released "The Cuban Tapes", featuring talented vocal guests such as Danay Suarez and Ruthie Foster. This album showcased an exotic blend of Cuban rhythms executed with the trademark Bahama Soul Club style. With their infectious positive vibes and timeless sound that transcends boundaries, language, and race, Bahama Soul Club has solidified themselves as one of the most exciting contemporary outfits in the club jazz scene.
