The Spitfires

The Spitfires are a Watford-based group who have released five studio albums, one live album and several singles, and have extensively toured the UK and Europe since their inception in 2012. The band scored a national UK number 1 vinyl single in April 2016 with ‘So Long’, a number 2 vinyl single in May 2017 with ‘Move On’ and their first two albums reached number 6 in the UK independent album charts. Led by lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Billy Sullivan, their work ethic, sharp style and powerful song-writing mixed with acute social commentary has made this fiercely independent band one of the most popular underground success stories in the UK today.

With over 400 gigs under their belt, The Spitfires have built up a passionate following that travel over land and sea to shows. This enables gigs to be more than just an ordinary concert but rather an exciting event for fans. Notable DJs such as Gary Crowley (BBC London), Steve Lamacq (BBC6Music) and Rodney Bingenheimer (KROQ) are fans of the band's music. They have also had the opportunity to support renowned artists like Paul Weller and The Specials.

Billy Sullivan will bid farewell to The Spitfires with a final concert at London Ballroom on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 as he embarks on his solo career.
