Warren Ellis

Australian multi-instrumentalist, composer and violinist, Warren Ellis was born on 14 February 1965 in Ballarat, Victoria. With a career spanning several decades, Ellis has made significant contributions to the music industry. He is known for his work with various bands and artists including Dirty Three, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, and Charles Marshall And The Body Electric.

Ellis began his musical journey in 1986 with his first project called These Future Kings. After a period of silence, he joined Blackeyed Susans in 1992 but left the band the following year. During this time, he also collaborated with Busload Of Faith and Kim Salmon And The Surrealists. In 1994, Ellis became part of Kim Salmon's STM and David McComb And The Red Ponies.

In addition to his collaborations, Ellis founded his current band Dirty Three in 1992. He continues to be an active member of Charles Marshall And The Body Electric since joining them in 1993. In 1996, Ellis joined Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds where he still remains a member today.
