Billy Nomates is a talented artist who grew up in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK. With a background in various bands and projects, Billy's musical journey truly began when she moved to the south coast in 2018. In September 2019, she made her debut as Billy Nomates and quickly gained support from influential figures such as Sleaford Mods and Geoff Barrow. Known for her DiY and Lo-fi approach, Billy records at home using Garage Band and Acid software, often self-releasing tracks via Bandcamp. Despite the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, Billy persevered and completed her reworked debut album at INVADA.

Invada Records was formed in 2002 by Geoff Barrow, Ashley Anderson, and Redg Weeks. Geoff and Ashley have been collaborating since 1998 and decided to establish the label together. In 2003, Geoff started Invada Records UK, focusing on developing a roster of artists from the UK that would also be released in Australia. As the label continues to grow, Invada is expanding its distribution network worldwide.

Off the back of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album released last year on Invada Records, Billy Nomates returns with her new 5 Track EP Emergency Telephone.

The new EP sees Billy Nomates develop her unique sound and unflinching lyrics, on the new EP she says, "Emergency Telephone is predominantly about communication breakdowns; personally, mentally, physically. A strange thing to happen while communication has never had so many channels. Perhaps we need a direct line.”
