Bridget St John is a British singer and songwriter, best known for her three albums recorded between 1969 and 1972 on John Peel's Dandelion label. Her debut album, Ask Me No Questions, was produced by Peel himself. With her accomplished guitar playing skills, she credits John Martyn as her guitar mentor. St John's popularity peaked in 1974 when she was voted fifth most popular female singer in that year's Melody Maker readers poll.

After recording the second album Songs for the Gentle Man with producer Ron Geesin, St John released another album called Jumble Queen under Chrysalis Records in 1974. She then moved to Greenwich Village in 1976 and remained out of the public eye for over two decades. However, she made a comeback at a Nick Drake tribute concert in New York in 1999 where she performed "Northern Sky" and "One of These Things First". In 2006, she toured Japan alongside minimalist French musician Colleen.

In addition to her solo work, Bridget St John has collaborated with various artists including Mike Oldfield on his album Amarok, Kevin Ayers, and Robin Frederick. She reunited with Kevin Ayers in 2007 to record on his album The Unfairground in New York where they duetted on the song "Baby Come Home". The English singer and guitarist Bridget St John was introduced to the bourgeoning London folk scene by guitarist John Martyn, her rich and unusually deep voice being highly distinctive. BBC Radio disc jockey John Peel became one of her greatest champions, and when Peel formed the Dandelion label in 1969 with former Elektra record plugger Clive Selwood, the original intention was to issue St John’s music. Following debut album Ask Me No Questions, which featured Martyn on a few tracks, the 1971 follow-up Songs For The Gentle Man was produced by Ron Geesin, who supplied a more orchestrated arrangement with woodwinds; the album also features a cover of Donovan’s The Pebble And The Man.
