Christine McVie was an English singer, keyboardist, and songwriter. She was born on July 12, 1943 in Greenodd, Lancashire, UK and sadly passed away on November 30, 2022.
As a member of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie made significant contributions to the band's success. In recognition of her talent and influence in the music industry, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Throughout her career, Christine McVie had two marriages that were notable within the music world. Her first marriage was to fellow Fleetwood Mac member John McVie from 1968 until their divorce in 1976. Her second marriage was to Eddy Quintela from 1986 until their divorce in 2003.

Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

Christine McVie was not only the songwriter and vocalist for many of Fleetwood Mac’s biggest hits (“Don’t Stop,” “Everywhere,” and “Little Lies”), but she also released some stunning solo albums during her Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame career. Rhino puts those recordings centre stage on the very first compilation to spotlight McVie as solo artist.

Songbird (A Solo Collection) features songs that were remastered by legendary producer Glyn Johns, who worked closely with McVie on the project. The collection includes a selection of songs from two of her solo albums – 1984’s Christine McVie and 2004’s In The Meantime – plus two previously unreleased studio recordings including “Slowdown,” which was originally written for the 1985 film American Flyers.

The liner notes that accompany Songbird find McVie paired with acclaimed English radio DJ and broadcaster Johnnie Walker for a conversation that touches on every song from the collection.
