Chubby Checker is an American rock’n’roll vocalist who gained fame for popularizing the Twist dance craze with his 1960 hit cover version of Hank Ballard’s R&B hit “The Twist”. Born on October 3, 1941 in Spring Gulley, South Carolina, Chubby Checker's name was rumored to be a record label invention, playing off the popularity of Fats Domino. With his energetic performances and catchy songs, Chubby Checker became a prominent figure in the music industry.

Throughout his career, Chubby Checker released numerous hits that captivated audiences around the world. While some later releases do not feature his original recordings from Parkway records, they were re-recorded around 1980. Despite this, Chubby Checker's talent and influence remain undeniable.
