Colosseum

Colosseum is a UK band that emerged in the late 1960s and became one of the pivotal progressive bands of that era. The founding members were Jon Hiseman on drums, Dick Heckstall-Smith on tenor sax, and Tony Reeves on bass. They were later joined by Dave Greenslade on keyboards, Clem Clempson on guitar, Chris Farlowe as vocalist, and Mark Clarke who replaced Tony Reeves. Colosseum's music is a progressive mix of rock, jazz, and blues with plenty of solos and interplay.

The band released three studio albums: "Those Who Are About To Die Salute You" and "Valentyne Suite" in 1969, followed by "Daughter Of Time" in 1970. Their highly acclaimed live album "Colosseum Live" was released in 1971. After disbanding that same year, most of the members went on to form or join other successful groups such as Humble Pie (Clem Clempson), Atomic Rooster (Chris Farlowe), Greenslade (Dave Greenslade reunited with Tony Reeves), and Colosseum II (founded by Jon Hiseman).

In 1994, Colosseum reunited and has been active ever since. Their unique blend of styles continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
