Death In June

Death In June emerged in June 1980 after the disbandment of British punk band Crisis. Guitarist Douglas Pearce and bassist Tony Wakeford were joined by drummer Patrick Leagas. Since 1985, Douglas P. has been the sole member of Death In June.

Their music initially fell within the postpunk genre but later evolved into a blend of acoustic ballads and synth-wave music. Death In June is widely recognized as pioneers of the "apocalyptic folk" or "neofolk" genre.

The current lineup consists of Douglas P., who handles guitar, vocals, percussion, and keyboards since 1981. Former members include Tony Wakeford (vocals, bass), Patrick Leagas (vocals, drums, drum machine, keyboards, trumpet), Richard Butler (keyboards), and David Tibet. John Murphy has also contributed as a former live member on percussion.
