Deep Purple is a hard rock band from England, United Kingdom. Formed in 1968, they are considered pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. Alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

Deep Purple stands alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath as part of the Holy Trinity of British hard rock. The list of the band's classic songs is legion, and the influence it's had on successive generations of musicians is both enduring and remarkable. A Fire in the Sky includes a selection of songs chosen from the 19 studio albums that Deep Purple recorded between 1968 and 2013.

3LP - Triple 180 Gram vinyl set includes 27 songs, among the highlights are the single edit version of Woman From Tokyo, the U.S. single edit for Burn, and the radio edit of Bad Attitude.

3CD - The three-disc version dives even deeper into Purple's past with 40 songs and includes at least one track from every studio album through Now What?!. It also provides the ultimate showcase for the group's various incarnations through the years. To date, more than a dozen musicians have appeared on a Deep Purple album. Among the set's many highlights are: the title track from 2005's Rapture of the Deep; King of Dreams from 1990's Slaves and Masters; Bad Attitude from 1987's The House of Blue Light; You Keep Me Moving from 1975's Come Taste The Band; and Hush from the group's 1968 debut, Shades Of Deep Purple. This expanded version also features Kevin Shirley's 2010 remix of Dealer, and the 2012 stereo mix for an early version of The Bird Has Flown.

The heavy hitters are here of course - Smoke On The Water and Highway Star - but so are gems like Perfect Strangers, the title track from the band's platinum-certified album from 1984, as well as Hell To Pay, from 2013's Now What?!.
