Dolly Mixture

Dolly Mixture is a British post-punk band that was formed in 1978 by bassist and vocalist Debsey Wykes, guitarist Rachel Bor, and drummer Hester Smith. Despite starting out as complete amateurs, they quickly gained attention for their unique sound. While some rumors suggested that they entered the music industry through their relationships with members of The Damned, it was actually only Rachel Bor who was involved with Captain Sensible. They achieved some success as backing vocalists for Captain Sensible's hit "Wot", but as a band, they were largely overlooked by both the media and the general public.

Throughout their career, Dolly Mixture faced challenges in gaining widespread recognition. However, their talent shone through in the release of a double album of demo tracks in 1984. Although initially self-released, this album garnered renewed interest when it was re-released in 1995.

With their distinctive style and dedication to creating music on their own terms, Dolly Mixture remains an influential force within the post-punk genre. Their contributions to the music industry continue to be celebrated by fans worldwide.
