Dopplereffekt

With identities shrouded in mystery, *Dopplereffekt* is a prominent figure in the Motor City electro scene. Their music pays homage to the classic electric-funk era of 1982, showcasing precise drum programming and captivating effects. Having debuted in 1995 with a mini-LP for Detroit's Dataphysix label, Dopplereffekt went on to release two EPs in 1997: Infophysix and Sterilization. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Kraftwerk sound, their German influences are evident throughout their discography.

Their breakthrough came when DJ Hell discovered "Sterilization" and included it on several mix albums. This led to Dopplereffekt signing with Deejay Gigolo label, owned by DJ Hell himself. In 1999, they released the highly acclaimed compilation album Gesamtkunstwerk through this international platform.

In addition to their work as Dopplereffekt, the duo also adopted the alias *Japanese Telecom*. Under this moniker, they released Rising Sun mini-LP through Intuit-Solar Records. Hailing from Ann Arbor at that time, this project further showcased their innovative approach to electronic music.
