Lorenzo Senni, Francesco Fantini and Yuri Ancarani will be in store on Monday 26th March for a Q&A conversation discussing their documentary & soundtrack, The Challenge, released 2nd March on Warp.

6.30pm Doors // 7.00pm Live on-stage Q&A + Audience questions // 8.00pm Signing

Warp wunderkind Lorenzo Senni can now announce details of the vinyl release of the original soundtrack for short film The Challenge. The release exposes Lorenzo Senni as a musical chameleon - blending the sound into the body of the film, making the music a collaborative character rather than an accompaniment. The producer may be best known for his trance explorations, but this really does expose him as an artist who can wring the emotion from his music. The soundtrack, a collaboration with Francesco Fantini, was recorded with a full orchestra and is both uplifting and joyous with a hint of melancholia. The release comes as a very limited edition deluxe 32 page photo book with 10” vinyl designed by Davide Mosconi. Listen to an excerpt.

The Challenge, directed by Yuri Ancarani, is a anthropological documentary observing the curious hobbies of the rich in the desert. Ranging from bidding for birds to Sunday-driving with exotic cats in SUVs around the desert, it’s a playful remark on a rarely seen subject.

Lorenzo Senni and Yuri Ancarani will be in conversation on the film, soundtrack and creating together at Rough Trade Brooklyn on the March 2nd, and Rough Trade East, London on March 19th.

Last year Lorenzo toured the world with “The Shape of Trance To Come”. Each show included a uniquely designed PVC banner. 2017 also saw edits of his music played out by Aphex Twin, Dixon, Tale of Us and Ame at Summer festivals across the globe. He was also given an honorary mention at the prestigious Prix Ars Electronica awards and had two bespoke compositions performed at Tate modern in London. He continues to persevere in his mission of spreading his pontilistic trance vision through the self appointed ‘Rave-Voyeuristic’ approach.
