Peeping Drexels

Since causing a stir with 2017’s The Goof as well as recent banger Bills Drift, Peeping Drexels have picked up national airplay thanks to 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, shared the stage with luminaries such as Fat White Family, Shame, Hotel Lux, Meatraffle and LICE (to name but a few), as well as recently packed out their first ever European headline in Leffinge, Belgium!
Notoriously chaotic live-shows have left a trail of relative destruction in their wake, including memorable headlines at London’s Sebright Arms, Dalston Birthdays, Brixton Windmill and Brighton’s Green Door Store.

An upcoming UK/European tour and their biggest headline show yet at The Old Blue Last have seen Peeping Drexels take a notable step up in profile in recent months. Now they’re set to take another giant leap forward with the release of their debut EP, out very soon via Fierce Panda Records/Permanent Creeps Records! Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 MUSIC) “A band I immediately like”
The Metro "Entertainingly ramshackle, grungily lunging, decidedly dark hybrid of garage-punk, skiffle and DIY art-pop!”

"Peeping Drexels have soaked up that signature south London sound into the roots of their music, and then distorted it, adding elements of grunge to create their own atmosphere of gritty doom”

CLASH Magazine

“For a band of discontented youths, Peeping Drexels wouldn’t be out of place sat next to more accomplished acts such as Iceage and Shame, ready-made for your road trip playlists or if you need a soundtrack to barge through the Tuesday commuters”

Sneers

SNEERS. are a two-piece music project formed in Berlin in early 2013 by singer-songwriter and guitarist M. G. Blaankart and drummer Leonardo Oreste Stefenelli.

In 2013 they released their debut album For Our Soul-Uplifting Lights To Shine As Fires followed by numerous gigs between Europe and U.K. With Flames Like Hope To Mortals Given (2016) was announced as the 2nd album and followed by a european tour.

Their music is made of a sound barrier where notes abandon the common harmony and repeat themselves obsessively, in a compulsive way, while the guitar devotionally moans, through noise instincts and melodies for souls. The drums is gloomy and savage, and the voice is sharp and emerges like a neurotic explosion.

Grimey, acid highway full throttle; V**gra Boys twisted dark punk album ‘Street Worms’ is an interesting ride as vocalist Sebastian Murphy lets you ride shotgun while this trip takes you blazing to the top of a mountain before speeding right back down to the basement again. The bass line ferociously drives the car and the drums make sure you stay on the road - this is one of those trips where you sporadically wake up and find yourself in strange situations, wondering how the f*ck you got there.

From the Shrimp shack to the dog show, one minute you’re playing rugby ball the next moment you’re being eaten by worms, and between the fading lights and the strange look on your friend’s face Murphy grabs your ears and asks you what it really is you want from this life.

This is an album about illusions of realness, the absurdum of existence and the joke on humanity.

‘Street Worms’ is V**gra Boys debut studio album, a debut that instantly let them occupy their absolute own space in music history.

“It was all a dream, but it was so nice. I had a nice house and such a lovely wife. We had a little dog, such a little dog, it reminded me of a large dog. Just a miniature size. ”

Produced by Daniel Fagerström (Skull Defekts, Chronic Heist) and Pelle Gunnerfeldt (Fireside, The Hives) for YEAR0001 2018.

V**gra Boys make great music, sort of like The Stooges meets The Birthday Party, or Devo cross-pollinated with Mark E Smith’s Fall - it might not be for everyone, but like Gibby said: ‘There’s a time to shit and a time for god, the last shit I took was pretty fucking odd’.
