Extreme Noise Terror

Extreme Noise Terror (often abbreviated to ENT) are a British extreme metal band formed in Ipswich in 1985. The original lineup consisted of Phil Vane and Dean Jones on vocals, Pete Hurley on guitar, Jerry Clay on bass, and 'Pig Killer' on drums. They started as a heavy Hardcore Punk band and released the Radioactive Earslaughter split album with Chaos UK. Over the years, there were several changes in the lineup, including the replacement of Jerry Clay by Mark Gardener and 'Pig Killer' by Mick Harris.

ENT's most stable lineup was Jones/Vane/Hurley/Stick/Bailey. They recorded various tracks for compilation albums and released Peel Session No3, Phonophobia, and a re-recording of their album 'Holocaust In Your Head'. However, their collaboration with KLF marked a turning point for the band as they stopped working on their own material due to financial constraints. Eventually, ENT merged with Dean Jones' side project Raw Noise.

The style of ENT's music evolved over time from crust/grind to a slower sound influenced by bands like GISM, Ministry, and Pitch Shifter. This change combined with internal conflicts led to the departure of members such as Mark Bailey and Pete Hurley.
