Sam Shepherd, also known as Floating Points, is a British electronic music producer and the co-founder of Eglo Records. He is renowned for his classical training and leads the 16-piece Floating Points Ensemble. With a strong passion for jazz music, he is highly regarded as a DJ and radio presenter.
Floating Points, whose real name is Sam Shepherd, has made a significant impact on the electronic music scene as both a producer and label owner. As one of the co-founders of Eglo Records, he played an instrumental role in shaping its unique sound. His own musical journey began at a young age with classical training, which has undoubtedly influenced his innovative approach to production.
In addition to his solo work, Shepherd also leads the Floating Points Ensemble - a 16-piece collective that combines elements of jazz and electronica to create mesmerizing compositions. Ninja Tune is an independent record label based in London, England. Established in 1990 by the duo known as Coldcut, Ninja Tune was created as a platform to release underground music free from the constraints of major labels. Inspired by a visit to Japan, Coldcut sought to pioneer the emerging hip-hop/electro scene of the eighties.

The label's success can be attributed to its constantly growing roster of diverse artists and their innovative approach to music and multimedia. With the combined expertise of Black and More, along with the graphic vision of Openmind and sound business practices, Ninja Tune has become known for producing quality music while providing unparalleled support to its artists.
