Fraternity

Fraternity were an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1970. They relocated to Adelaide in 1971 and went on to win the 1971 Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds, earning a free trip to London. Former members include Bon Scott (later of AC/DC), John Freeman, and his brother Bruce Howe. Fraternity had their biggest local hit with a cover version of "Seasons of Change." The band went through various line-ups and name changes before disbanding as Mickey Finn in 1981.

The band was originally formed by ex-members of Levi Smith's Clefs: John Bisset on keyboards, Tony Buettel on drums, Bruce Howe on bass guitar and vocals, and Mick Jurd on lead guitar. They signed with Nova Agencies and recruited Bon Scott as their lead vocalist. Fraternity recorded their debut single "Why Did It Have to Be Me?" which was released in October 1970.

After relocating to Adelaide, Fraternity achieved success with their cover of "Seasons of Change," reaching No. 1 in Adelaide but being overshadowed nationally by Blackfeather's original version. The band won the Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds competition and released their second album "Flaming Galah" before eventually disbanding as Mickey Finn in 1981.
