Ibeyi is a French/Cuban musical duo founded in 2013 by fraternal twin sisters, Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz. Born on December 13, 1994 in Paris, France, the twins are the daughters of renowned Cuban percussionist Miguel "Angá" Díaz and their mother Maya Dagnino serves as their manager. The duo's unique sound combines Yoruban music with elements of jazz, pop, soul, gospel and hip-hop. They sing lyrics in multiple languages including French, Spanish, Yoruban (from which their name derives) and English. Lisa-Kaindé takes on the role of lead vocalist and pianist while Naomi showcases her talent as a percussionist using instruments such as cajón and batá.
