Ibrahim Ferrer

Ibrahim Ferrer (20 February 1927 – 6 August 2005) was a Cuban singer who gained international recognition as part of the iconic Buena Vista Social Club, introduced to the world by Ry Cooder in the late 1990s. Despite having retired from his music career earlier, Ferrer went on to release several albums of his own.

His soulful voice and passionate performances captivated audiences worldwide. With influences from traditional Cuban music genres such as son and bolero, Ferrer's music showcased his immense talent and deep connection to his cultural roots.
