Jack Peñate’s new single Prayer, is his first official release in a decade since his second album Everything is New was released on XL Recordings in 2009. Jack took time away from releasing music to experiment with writing and production, collaborating with others along the way (including David Byrne’s American Utopia). Prayer was written and recorded in the space of one day when Jack meet the producer Inflo. They immediately jumped in a car and drove to Jack’s garage-converted studio in Oxford where Prayer was born, before being finished in New York with Alex Epton.
“Prayer was made for and with my family and friends. It’s a piece about the unifying nature of loss and the thread of hope that survives throughout.”
