Japan

Japan was a British band formed in 1974. They were pioneers of the New Romantic movement and gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band consisted of David Sylvian, Mick Karn, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri, and Rob Dean. Japan's music combined elements of glam rock, art pop, and electronic music, creating a unique sound that set them apart from their contemporaries. Their albums "Quiet Life" and "Tin Drum" are considered classics of the era. Despite disbanding in 1982, Japan's influence on music continues to be felt today.

Their frontman David Sylvian went on to have a successful solo career as a singer-songwriter and collaborated with various artists across different genres. Mick Karn also pursued a solo career as well as collaborating with other musicians such as Kate Bush and Gary Numan.
