Born in Derby, England on January 27, 1944, he studied art and developed a love for American blues music during his youth. After working as a social therapist and psychiatric nurse for several years, Coyne signed a record deal in 1969 and formed the band Siren. His solo career took off with the release of his powerful album "Marjory Razorblade" in 1973.
