Big Beat

Big Beat is an American electronic and dance music record label based in New York City. Founded in 1987 by a 22-year-old DJ, Craig Kallman, the label initially focused on house music and later expanded to include hip hop. Originally run from Kallman's parents' apartment, Big Beat was acquired by Atlantic in 1992 and fully integrated into the parent company in 1998. In 2010, the label was relaunched with a renewed focus on electronic and dance music under the leadership of Kallman and other executives.
