Salsoul

Salsoul is an iconic US disco label that was active in the 1970s and early 1980s. Based in New York City, it was one of the first labels to release a commercial 12-inch single. Founded by brothers Joe Cayre, Ken Cayre, and Stan Cayre, Salsoul became known for its high-quality productions. The label's manufacturing and distribution were taken on by RCA Records in 1978. During this time, a red bar appeared under the main Salsoul logo. Salsoul also had a sister label called Latin Music, which specialized in Latin music.

Over the years, ownership of Salsoul changed hands multiple times. From 1975 to 1992, it was owned by Salsoul Record Corp., followed by Bethlehem Music Company Inc. from 1992 to 2011. In 2011, VMG Salsoul LLC took over as a division of Verse Music Group LLC until 2015 when BMG Rights Management became the current owner.

Today, Salsoul remains a respected name in the music industry with its rich history and contributions to disco music. Its legacy lives on through its extensive catalog of releases and influential artists who have graced its roster.
