The English rock band Led Zeppelin was active from 1968 to 1980, during which time they recorded eight studio albums.
Led Zeppelin formed after the disbandment of The Yardbirds. Guitarist Jimmy Page had joined The Yardbirds in their final days and played a crucial role on their last album. In 1967, while The Yardbirds were inactive, Page returned to session work. During this time, he collaborated with John Paul Jones on Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man." Jones expressed his interest in joining any future project Page would develop. With the departure of Keith Relf and Jim McCarty from The Yardbirds in 1968, Page and bassist Chris Dreja took ownership of the band name and had an upcoming tour to fulfill. Page sought out a new vocalist and drummer, initially considering Terry Reid and B.J. Wilson but ultimately connecting with Robert Plant through Reid's suggestion.
In recognition of their influential contributions to rock music, Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1995.

Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

Led Zeppelin was at the peak of its powers on July 27-29 1973 when the band’s performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden were recorded for the concert film, The Song Remains The Same. The soundtrack to the film, produced by Jimmy Page, was originally released on Swan Song in 1976. The performances in the film were recorded during the band’s tour for its then-current studio album, Houses Of The Holy. The collection is packed with electrifying live versions of Zep classics like Rock and Roll, Stairway To Heaven, No Quarter, Moby Dick, Dazed And Confused, and Celebration Day.
