Rough Trade Albums of the Month - January 2019

Lorelle Meets The Obsolete will be live in-store at Rough Trade Nottingham and Rough Trade Bristol to perform tracks from their new album De Facto.

A dark disco of shimmering synths and ethereal shoegaze but it’s disco dance floor shoes that you’re gazing at.

Lorena Quintanilla and Alberto González release their fifth album. It was recorded at their Ensenada, Baja California home studio with their touring band Fernando Nuti (bass), Andrea Davi (drums) and Jose Orzoco (synths). It was mixed by Cooper Crain (of Cave) and mastered by Mikey Young (of Eddy Current Suppression Ring / Total Control). Ominous soundscapes with marching beats and howling synths. Echoed nightmare sounds are mirrored by vocals coming from all sides. Dark grooves dominate at Cat Woman’s nightclub. Prayers to the lord of mysterious fuzzed up pop. Flailing noise, driving bass, percussive rhythmic shuffling and a ghost that just won’t leave you alone.

LP - Limited Red Vinyl with Download.

CD - Housed in Miniature Replica Sleeve.
