Renowned as the fastest pianist in the world, he effortlessly sustains speeds of over 19.5 notes per second in each hand. In 1989, Melnyk made history by setting the record for the most number of notes played in one hour, astonishingly reaching 93,650 individual notes. This extraordinary achievement was documented in Sweden.
