English indie rock band, Mansun, was formed in Chester in 1995. The band consisted of Paul Draper on vocals and guitar, Dominic Chad on lead guitar, Stove King on bass, and Andie Rathbone on drums. Originally named Manson after Charles Manson, they had to change their name to avoid legal action from the Charles Manson Estate when they signed with Parlophone. Their debut album reached UK #1 and their follow-up album charted at #6. Despite a decline in popularity with their third album, Mansun continued to have a dedicated fan base who petitioned for the release of their fourth album.

In 2004, Parlophone released a 3xCD set of unreleased recordings, home demos, and live material as a response to fans' requests. This was followed by another release in 2006. Although the band faced artistic differences and eventually disbanded in 2003, Mansun's music continues to be appreciated by fans worldwide.

Mansun’s audacious and infectious top 10 album remastered for 21st-Anniversary. Mansun were one of the most iconic and innovative British bands of the late 90s. Having signed to the legendary record label Parlophone (home to The Beatles, Radiohead and Sigur Ros) they released four albums - Attack of the Grey Lantern (1997), Six (1998), Little Kix (2000) and the compilation Kleptomania following the band’s split - as well as a popular and now rare series of EPs. Tearing up the expectation laid by their smash hit number 1 debut album Attack of the Grey Lantern, Mansun followed up in 1998 with their leftfield cult classic Six. The music is a unification of numerous ideas and inspirations, with elements of pop, electronica and progressive rock. They included a Tchaikovsky sample interlaced with electronic drums and spooky synth lines, references to religious scepticism, Winnie the Pooh, Stanley Kubrick, Marxism and spoken word from the legendary fourth Doctor Who - Tom Baker. Its varied sounds result in dynamic switches mid-track to seemingly new songs, making the album a timeless record and it’s not short on strong individual tracks with the singles Legacy, Being A Girl, Negative and Six. The audio has been fully remastered from the original master tapes by Jon Astley (Van Morrison, The Who, George Harrison, Norah Jones, Rolling Stones).

4CD - Three Cd and One DVD Set. The first three discs of the Deluxe set are CDs featuring the remastered album in full, a disc of demos, rarities and outtakes, and the B-side album The Dead Flowers Reject. The fourth disc is a DVD, which is the album’s first ever 5.1 surround sound mix (DTS 96/24 5.1 and Dolby Digital AC3 5.1) by long-time collaborator P-Dub, a hi-resolution stereo audio (24bit/48kHz Linear PCM) and the original promotional videos. The 48-page hardback book features sleeve notes by journalist and long-time fan Paul Lester, and insights from Paul Draper including a foreword, an analysis of the cover art, track-by-track descriptions for both CDs 2 and 3 and an album overview of The Dead Flowers Reject, amongst plenty of newly unearthed treasures.
