Max Romeo

Max Romeo is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter, born on November 22, 1947 in St. D'Acre, St. James, Jamaica (some sources say 1944). He gained popularity in the UK with his hit song 'Wet Dream' in 1969 and collaborated with renowned producers Bunny Lee, Winston 'Niney' Holness, and Lee Perry during different periods of his career. In the 1980s, he also recorded for Bullwackie. His influential track 'Chase the Devil' has been sampled by various artists including The Prodigy and Jay-Z.
