Morton Subotnick

Morton Subotnick is an American composer of electronic music and a pioneer in incorporating instruments and other media into his works. His compositions often feature computer parts or live electronic processing, making use of important technological advancements in the genre's history. In the early 1960s, Subotnik co-founded The Electric Circus along with Vladimir Ussachevsky and Otto Luening. He was also a founding member of The California Institute of the Arts, where he taught for many years. Collaborating with his wife Joan La Barbara, Subotnick continues to push boundaries in the world of electronic music.
