BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Motorhead was a post-punk band from Greater Manchester, UK that existed from 1976 to 2018. The band, led by the iconic Mark E. Smith, released numerous singles and albums throughout their career. Known for their ever-changing lineup, Motorhead had over 30 different line-ups during their time together.

In addition to their music, Motorhead also ventured into other artistic endeavors such as releasing a play called 'Hey Luciani' and a ballet titled 'I am Kurious Oranj'. They were also regulars on John Peel's Radio 1 show, recording an impressive 24 sessions between June 1978 and August 2004.

Although the band went through many changes over the years, some of the key members included Mark E. Smith on vocals, Pete Greenway on guitar, Dave "The Eagle" Spurr on bass, Elena Poulou on keyboards, Keiron Melling on drums. Other notable members who joined at various points include Daren Garratt and Mike Clapham.

1979 was Motorhead year – the year of Overkill. Motorhead, the loudest band in the world, with the power and force of a hundred pneumatic drills they destroyed the nation over and again and no-one, repeat no-one, remained unaffected by them – everyone was torn limb from limb. The album Overkill and was ten times more powerful than their first album Motörhead, which was a killer in itself. The production was in the capable and experienced hands of one Jimmy Miller, whose previous successes had been with the likes of the Rolling Stones. He brought out the very best in the boys and the total effect was lethal. Overkill is full of real skullcrackers, brain damaging to the nth degree and with the hit singles Overkill and No Class, you can doubtless guess the destroying effect of the whole affair. That’s Motörhead; straight, basic, down to earth rock and roll, with absolutely no holds barred. Both sets includes the previously unreleased Live From Aylesbury 31/03/79.
