Peeping Drexels / Honkies

Peeping Drexels / Honkies Split

Two of London’s most exciting DIY / Alternative bands have joined forces to lay siege on the UK’s underground. Now they release a split CD Ep on Permanent Creeps Records. As established comrades of the now infamous South London ‘scene’ (though certainly not existing within it’s trappings), the two band’s individual sounds combine to complimentary effect, with Peeping Drexels Bills Drift and Honkies Pagans (both solid fan favourites) chosen for this split. Since causing a stir with previous single The Goof, the 6 months following have seen Peeping Drexels gig relentlessly across the South, alongside everyone from Madonnatron to Meatraffle, YOWL to Meat Wave. Headline shows at London’s Sebright Arms, Dalston Birthdays, Brixton Windmill and even Brightons Green Door Store have seen the band take a notable step up in profile. Bills Drift looks set to push this even further!
And finally Honkies have built a reputation in recent months as nothing short of eclectic. With elements of electronic, post punk and lo fi, their distorted and country infused sound is attracting interest across the capital. Previous release Entitled to Nothing quickly established Honkies as a band that offer something completely different to the competition.
