Preservation Hall Jazz Band

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is a renowned musical group that takes its name from the historic music venue, Preservation Hall, located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe, the band has dedicated itself to preserving and promoting the art form of New Orleans Jazz.

With a mission to nurture and perpetuate this unique genre, the band has traveled across the globe, captivating audiences with their exceptional talent and infectious energy. Led by Creative Director Ben Jaffe on tuba, they bring together a diverse group of musicians including Mark Braud on trumpet and vocals, Charlie Gabriel on clarinet and vocals, Freddie Lonzo on trombone, Rickie Monie on piano, Clint Maedgen on tenor saxophone and vocals, Ronell Johnson on tuba, and Joe Lastie Jr. on drums.

Other talented artists occasionally join them onstage or in recordings such as Frank Demond on trombone, Shannon Powell on percussion, Leroy Jones on trumpet, Carl LeBlanc on banjo, Darryl Adams and Elliot "Stackman" Callier on saxophone, and David Silverman also playing tuba.
