Soul/gospel singer and songwriter, Al Green, was born on 13 April 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas, USA. He started his career as Al Greene but has used the name Al Green since the late 1960s. In addition to his music career, he has been a pastor at Memphis' Full Gospel Tabernacle since 1976. Al Green was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 as a performer and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.

Fat Possum Records is a label that was established in 1991 with the sole purpose of recording R.L. Burnside. Over time, it evolved into a mission to discover and record the last remaining original bluesmen before they passed away. Despite facing various challenges such as difficult personalities, limited songs, and a raw sound that didn't fit the mainstream blues market, these artists possessed immense talent and truly lived the blues.

In recent years, Fat Possum has expanded its catalog to include newer indie blues rock bands alongside their traditional offerings.

Remastered and reissued on Fat Possum. Although Al Green' second long player of 1972 has the distinct sexy style of his preceding album, I'm Still In Love With You is exceptional as it finds Green developing a suave romantic tone and becoming more ambitious with his song writing and selections. Covers of Kris Kristofferson's 'For The Good Times', and Roy Orbison's 'Oh Pretty Woman' find Green exploring country music and bravely reinterpreting classics with some wonderful results. Alongside these covers, the album harbours some of Greens most inspirational moments songs such as 'Simply Beautiful' and 'Love And Happiness'.
