Demon is a UK 80s New Wave label that was founded by Elvis Costello, Andrew Lauder, and the company behind the label in 1980. In 1998, the label was acquired by Music Collection International and merged with its Westside Records operation. Today, Demon forms part of the Demon Music Group Ltd.

'Haircut 100' was a popular 'New Wave' pop band that existed from 1980 to 1982. The band, led by Nick Heyward, gained significant recognition during their short-lived career. Known for their catchy tunes and energetic performances, Haircut 100 left a lasting impact on the music scene of the early 1980s.
Formed in England, Haircut 100 quickly rose to fame with their debut album 'Pelican West', which featured hit singles like "Love Plus One" and "Fantastic Day". Their unique blend of pop, funk, and jazz elements captivated audiences worldwide.
Although their time together as a band was relatively brief, Haircut 100's influence can still be felt today. Their infectious melodies and vibrant sound continue to inspire new generations of musicians and fans alike.

New half-speed master edition of Pelican West, a celebration edition of Haircut 100’s much-loved debut album, released with full cooperation of the band.  This new edition has been newly mastered by Phil Kinrade, and expertly cut using transfers of the original 1⁄2” digital audio tapes using precision half-speed mastering by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering. The equipment at AIR Mastering uses balanced mains power for improved performance and lower noise and the digital equipment is locked to an extremely accurate digital clock to reduce jitter. The Neumann VMS80 lathes and cutting amplifiers used have been fully renovated and modified to enable half speed mastering. Pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl, featuring an obi strip and housed in a poly-lined inner sleeve. Also includes a 4-page booklet insert.
