Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world.

This is the Zen of Half Japanese, of prolific songwriter Jad Fair; wide-eyed crooner, humorous raconteur and spontaneous storyteller. A genre-bending romp through the mind of the man, originally 
 released in 1989 in a purple patch for the group, preceded by ‘Music To Strip By’ and ‘Charmed Life’. “Half Japanese were a song machine,” attested Pitchfork, while AllMusic saw this album as a collection of “humorous lo-fi rock ‘n’ roll hit singles.”
