The piano hero’s classic 1964 album. His third Blue Note LP. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, on 30th August 1963. Herbie’s first explicitly Latin-tinged jazz album. Featuring Paul Chambers (bass), Osvaldo ‘Chihuahua’ Martinez (congas and bongos) and Willie Bobo (drums and timbales). Showcasing five great Hancock originals: Succotash, Triangle, Jack Rabbit, Mimosa and A Jump Ahead. Produced by Blue Note co-founder Alfred Lion. Includes session photography by Blue Note co-founder Francis Wolff and liner notes by esteemed writer Nat Hentoff.
